Information and purpose

Network tools use the connection IP and target address to process requests and prevent abuse. Application usage statistics do not store the raw IP or the target URL’s path and query.

Usage records contain a visitor identifier derived from the IP using a secret key, the tool, duration, success, and error code. Pseudonymous identifiers may still be personal information; they are not treated as anonymous.

The board stores nicknames, password hashes, titles, content, creation and update times, and pseudonymous IP identifiers. Plaintext passwords and email addresses are not stored. Only approved posts are public; moderators can read non-public posts. Legacy feedback is visible only in the administrator archive.

Browser processing and network requests

Browser-only tools do not send their input to the server. Network lookups require the relevant address or port to be sent to PPORT and may contact the target or its lookup provider.

Server, proxy, and hosting logs may contain connection metadata. The supplied Nginx configuration omits raw client IPs and URL queries from the access log, but the operator must check the actual hosting configuration.

Cookies

Administrator sessions use an HttpOnly cookie for authentication and CSRF protection. The server validates session state and expiration. General user registration is not available. Advertising cookies are described under “Advertising and ad cookies” below. No other external analytics or tracking scripts are used.

The pport_language cookie stores only an explicitly selected language for up to one year. Choose Automatic to delete this preference and use browser detection. It is separate from authentication.

Advertising and ad cookies

PPORT uses Google AdSense to show ads that help cover running costs. On pages where ads appear, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of other third-party vendors’ cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Besides Google, third-party ad networks certified by Google may also serve ads on this site and use cookies. Information about certified ad vendors is linked below, and you can opt out of each vendor’s personalized-ad cookies on the vendor’s own site or at www.aboutads.info.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message before ads are shown.

The PPORT server does not read or store advertising cookies, and viewing or clicking ads has no effect on tool results or usage limits.

Retention

Tool records are kept for up to 30 days and at most 100,000 entries. Comments are kept for up to 90 days. A daily cleanup job removes expired records; rate-limit records are cleaned after their window.

Network results are cached in worker memory for up to six hours. The supplied web-server log rotation keeps logs for 14 days by default. System journal and infrastructure security logs follow their respective operational policies.

Contact and requests

Contact the operator for access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions: pport.cloud@gmail.com

Processing takes place in the Oracle Cloud region selected by the operator. DNS resolvers, WHOIS registries, and target servers receive the addresses or queries needed for network lookups. Do not enter URLs containing sensitive tokens.

IP records for administration

For abuse handling and per-IP allowances, separate operational records store the raw connection IP, first and last access times, request counts, route type and response status. Only authenticated administrators can view them. Inputs, URL queries, cookies and passwords are not stored in these records. Up to 10,000 IPs are kept and deleted by daily cleanup after 7 days of inactivity; capacity limits can cause earlier removal.

Per-IP exceptions expire within 7 days. Change records include the target IP, administrator IP, time, action and note, retained for up to 7 days and 10,000 entries and removed by daily cleanup. Operational backups are outside this automatic cleanup; the operator manages their retention and deletion separately. Shared IPs, VPNs or address reassignment can cause a policy to affect other people.

Saving appearance preferences

Your chosen theme is saved in this browser’s local storage (pport_theme). System mode follows your device preference. This setting is not sent to the server.

Feedback board

The board uses an essential session cookie for CSRF protection and the ten most recent post IDs from this browser. Private viewing, editing and deletion require the author password. This is separate from general user login.

Posts leave public listings 90 days after creation and are deleted by daily cleanup. Nicknames and password hashes with no posts and no use for 90 days are also deleted. Pseudonymous IP and nickname blocks expire within 30 days. Operational backups containing deleted data must be cleaned separately under the operator’s backup retention policy.
